The primary effort of the Assistant Project Manager is to provide construction management support and inspection on commercial heavy buildings with an emphasis on aviation. 

Responsibilities & Competencies…
  • Provide day to day construction management support and use value engineering.
  • Attend and produce well-drafted minutes of assigned meetings.
  • Manage the project calendar to assure that all project meetings are attended and recorded.
  • Develop and manage project logs, directories, document lists.
  • Maintain records management.
  • Maintain construction standards.
  • Ensure pre-final and final inspections are coordinated, and punch lists are developed.
  • Accurately complete construction inspection record daily.
  • Review submittals. 
  • Coordinate construction contractor.
  • Ensure cost estimate is within requested timeframe and within 10% accuracy.
  • Develop and manage RFPs.
  • Ensure scope of work development is accomplished within established time.
  • Minor drafting for contract medications by sketch or CAD drawing as needed to clearly convey project needs and expected outcome. Knowledge and use of Autodesk’s AutoCAD 2018 required.
  • Prepare all necessary forms for project solicitation and obtain necessary signatures.
  • Assist in validating contractor invoices and analyze change orders.
  • Review of project forms, progress schedule that includes milestones detailing various stages of construction and phasing, lead time of new materials and installation. Weekly updates shall be provided to Contracting Officer. The schedule must be submitted before any work begins.
  • Oversee and ensure submittal, before final payment, a complete set of As-built drawings including but not limited to: site layout and construction details, civil, mechanical, electrical and architectural drawings.
  • Perform other administrative and managerial tasks as assigned by the Project Manager and assure follow through on all tasks.
  • 15+ years of combined experience and education in engineering and/or construction management.
  • Degree Required in construction, engineering, architecture, or other related field.
  • Knowledge and use of AutoCAD 2018 required.
  • Familiar with Primavera and RS Means.
  • Knowledge of Airplane Hanger requirements preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary group.
  • Ability to handle high pressure situations with calm and stable demeanor.
  • Have a high emotional intelligence. Exceptional communication, teamwork and influencing skills that foster a collaborative and continuous-improvement environment.
